The rabbit died is a sweet and terrible waste of life, light, of a cosmos that made sense, has lost the habit of living but not to walk or to show its context. A rabbit agile, fast, smooth, intuitive, quiet and mostly clever ... the rabbit died is cunning, and knows that this is a cycle, but its slippery steps can be outlined as mortuary, installed in the telos, the next moment is the genesis, life, resurrection, and equilibrium glow of harmony and order.
Angel Chanez surrounds us with the colors and shapes of their imagination, when looking at his work seems a dialogue with the rabbit that travels the avenues of nowhere, the maps of death, the universe of meaninglessness and emptiness. The deliberate fall of his strokes and the violent intensity of color encourage us to think about the future of this story, the next steps of the dead, the clever rabbit with no eyes looking at us and seduces us. The pathos felt in the body of work calls for reflection on the contemporary world and its evils, the transience of life, fear the end of it, the distaste of loneliness and discomfort of abandonment. The death of the rabbit is perhaps also an invitation to think about the value of life ... however, the question remains ... will look again at the rabbit, you will find the path of light back from the dead and turn away from that chronic loneliness? We will have to ask the artist.
